Olá, amada família Saenuri! Tudo bem com vocês?

안녕하세요, 사랑하는 새누리 가족 여러분! 다들 평안하신가요?

'Todo bem? (다들 잘 지내죠?)'은 브라질 사람들이 가장 많이 쓰는 안부 인사라고 합니다. 특별히 포멀한 느낌보다는 훨씬 더 가깝고 친근한 느낌을 주는 표현이라고 해요 ㅎㅎ

4일 연속으로 선교 일지를 쓰면서 여러분이 달아주시는 댓글들을 보며 소통하는 느낌이다보니 내적친밀감이 커진 것 같습니다! 

(저만 그렇게 느끼는건 아닐거예요.. 그쵸? 아니라고 해주세요 제발~)

오늘은 본격적인 VBS와 의료선교 사역을 시작하는 day 3 였습니다. 오늘은 일정상 꽤나 긴 하루였지만 그만큼, 아니, 그것보다 훨씬 더 큰 은혜와 성령님의 일하심으로 넘치게 채워주신 하루였습니다. 그럼 저희의 하루를 사진으로 만나보시죠! :)

Hello, beloved Saenuri family! Is everyone doing well?

I heard that "Tudo bem? (Is everything good? / Are you doing well?)" is the most commonly used greeting by Brazilians. They say it gives off a much closer, friendlier vibe rather than a strictly formal one, haha. Writing these mission journals for four days straight and reading your comments makes me feel like we are really communicating, and I feel like my inner closeness with you all has grown so much! (I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way... right? Please tell me I'm not~)

Today was Day 3, when we officially kicked off our VBS and medical mission ministries. Schedule-wise, it was quite a long day, but it was abundantly filled with a grace and the working of the Holy Spirit that was equally great—no, actually, much greater than the fatigue. Now then, let's take a look at our day through the photos! :)

오늘은 VBS와 의료 선교를 아침 일찍부터 시작하는 관계로 저희도 이른 아침부터 일어나 QT 시간을 갖고, 아침을 서둘러 먹은 뒤 다함께 모여 오늘 하나님께서 만나게 해주실 영혼들을 위해 함께 기도함으로 아이들과 환자분들을 맞이할 준비를 마쳤습니다!

Since we were starting our VBS and medical mission early today, we also woke up bright and early to have our QT (Quiet Time). After a quick breakfast, we all gathered to pray for the souls God would allow us to meet today, completing our preparations to welcome the children and the patients!

VBS가 시작하기도 전부터 미리 와서 도착한 아이들의 설렘, 기대 그리고 기쁨이 시작도 전부터 창문을 넘어서서 느껴지는것을 경험할 수 있었습니다 ㅎㅎ 어찌나 감사하고 기뻤던지요!

Even before VBS officially started, the children who arrived early were overflowing with excitement, anticipation, and joy, which we could feel radiating right through the windows, haha. We were so thankful and overjoyed!

처음 만나는 사이라 낯설고 어색할수도 있었을텐데, 수줍지만 반가운 미소로 오히려 저희를 반기던 아이들이었습니다. 어찌나 예쁘고 귀하던지요!

Since it was our first time meeting, it could have been unfamiliar and awkward, but the children actually welcomed us with shy but happy smiles. They were so beautiful and precious!

황목사님의 환영인사와 기도로 본격적으로 VBS를 시작합니다!

몇년째 이곳을 방문하고 계시는 황목사님은 아이들에게 "혹시 목사님을(나를) 기억하나요?" 라고 물으시고 꼭 덧붙이십니다. "혹시 이 잘생긴 목사님을 기억하나요?"

(몇년째 대답을 기다리고 계신다면서....) 농~담~ㅎ 

We officially kicked off VBS with a welcoming greeting and prayer from Pastor Hwang! Pastor Hwang, who has been visiting this place for several years, always asks the kids, "Do you happen to remember me (this pastor)?" and he never fails to add, "Do you happen to remember this handsome pastor?"

(I heard Pastor Hwang is still waiting to hear the answer for years...) JK~hehe

의료팀을 섬기시면서도 VBS 간식도 맡아서 "미리 미리" 준비해주시고 계시는 미리 자매님 ㅎㅎ 너무 감사합니다!

Sister Miri, who is serving on the medical team while also taking charge of the VBS snacks, preparing them "miri miri" (in advance) haha. Thank you so much!

다함께 신나는 바디워십 타임! 신나는 찬양과 댄스로 하나님께 찬양과 영광을 올려드립니다, 할렐루야!

처음 보는 바디 워십임에도 열심히 참여하며 함께 하나님께 찬양 드리는 아이들의 모습이 너무 예뻤습니다 ㅎㅎ

An exciting worship dance time altogether! We offer praise and glory to God with joyful songs and dances, Hallelujah! It was so beautiful to see the children participating enthusiastically and praising God with us, even though it was their first time seeing this worship dance, haha.

바디 워십 타임이 끝난 후 Craft 시간을 준비하며 기도하는 시간. 두 손 모아 두 눈 꼭 감고 하나님께 기도하는 아이들의 모습, 참 귀하고 예쁘지 않나요?

저희가 보기에도 이렇게 귀한데, 하나님이 보시기에는 얼마나 좋으실까요?

Time to pray while getting ready for the Craft session after the worship dance. The sight of the children praying to God with their hands folded and eyes tightly closed—isn't it so precious and beautiful? If they look this precious to us, imagine how pleased God must be looking at them!

교회 1층에서 VBS가 진행되는 동안 2층에서는 의료 사역이 진행되었습니다. 

각 스테이션마다 다른 진료과의 의료진 자매님들이 환자분들을 진료해주셨고, 진료가 끝난 뒤에는 중보기도로 섬겼습니다.

While VBS was taking place on the first floor of the church, the medical mission was underway on the second floor. Our medical team sisters from different departments treated patients at their respective stations, and after each consultation, we served them with intercessory prayer.

1층에서는 Craft 세션이 한창 진행되었고, 복음을 나누는 귀한 시간이 되었습니다! 

Back on the first floor, the Craft session was in full swing, and it became a precious time to share the gospel!

실내에서의 Craft와 간식타임을 가진 후 야외로 나온 아이들은 시원한 음료수를 마시고 이제 본격적으로 몸을 풀고 뛰어 놀 준비를 합니다.

After enjoying the indoor Craft and snack time, the children came outside, drank some refreshing juice, and got ready to warm up and run around in earnest.

밖으로 나오기 전 다시 한번 돌아보는 수민 간사님과 VBS 팀에서 꾸며주신 알록달록한 VBS 데코들. 아이들 취향 제대로 저격해버렸죠?

Taking one last look at the colorful VBS decorations put together by Minister Sumin and the VBS team before heading outside. They completely nailed the kids' tastes, right?

오전 VBS 일정이 끝난 후 아이들이 점심을 먹는 시간동안 저희도 점심 식사 시간을 가졌습니다! 이 사진에 나온 닭구이 요리와 돼지고기 요리가 정말 너무 맛있었습니다. 한 입 먹자마자 감탄이 저절로 나왔고 거의 모든 인원이 두접시씩 먹었다는 후문이... 

After the morning VBS schedule ended and the children were having lunch, we also took our lunch break! The grilled chicken and pork dishes in this photo were incredibly delicious. The moment we took a bite, we couldn't help but marvel, and rumor has it that almost everyone went back for seconds...

또한 장년부 자매님들이 챙겨와주신 집밥 스타일 한식 반찬들을 빼놓을 수 없죠, 아니 절대 빼놓을 수 없습니다. 참 신기한것은, 현지에서 준비해주시는 음식들과 이 반찬들의 궁합이 환상의 궁합이라는겁니다. 메뉴가 그때 그때 달라지는데도 불구하고 한식 반찬들이랑 너무 잘 어울려서 한 숟갈도 남기지 않고 다 먹게 되더라구요 ㅎㅎ! 매 끼니마다 감사함으로 식사를 하고 있습니다!

We also can't leave out—no, we absolutely must not leave out—the home-style Korean side dishes brought by our adult group sisters. What's amazing is that these side dishes pair perfectly with the local food prepared for us here. Even though the menu changes every time, it goes so well with the Korean sides that we end up finishing every last bite without leaving a single spoonful, haha! We are eating every meal with such gratitude!

식사를 마치고 오전 일정을 위해 열심히 달린 형제 자매들을 위해서 커피와 디저트 커피를 제조중인 커피박사와 디저트박사를 소개합니다!

무에서 유를 창조해내는 멋지고 대단한 우리 희현자매와 용천형제.. 커피선교와 디저트선교... 그 사역... 앞으로도 계속해서 기대합니다! +_+

Let me introduce our Coffee Expert and Dessert Expert, who are brewing coffee and dessert coffee for the brothers and sisters who ran hard through the morning schedule! Creating something out of nothing, our amazing and wonderful Sister Heehyun and Brother Yongcheon... Coffee ministry and dessert ministry... We will continue to look forward to that work! +_+

야외 VBS 일정을 마치고 실내로 돌아와 있을 순서들을 위해 준비중인 Skit 팀 연기파 배우들! :)

단순히 연기만 잘하는것이 아닌, 진정으로 하나님의 사랑과 예수님의 우리를 향한 사랑을 진심을 담아서, 온 몸과 표정으로 표현해내는 skit은, 볼 때마다 큰 은혜가 큰 것 같습니다.

Our talented actors from the Skit Team, getting ready for the next sessions back indoors after finishing the outdoor VBS schedule! :) It’s not just about good acting; their skit sincerely expresses God’s love and Jesus' love for us with their entire bodies and facial expressions, and it brings such immense grace every time we watch it.

오후에도 진료 선교는 계속 되었습니다. 강변마을내에는 저희가 있는 교회에서 배 타고 조금 떨어진 곳에 있는 보건소가 하나 있는데요, 그곳은 모든 병을 치료해줄 수 있는 여건이 되는 시설은 아니기 때문에 좀 더 전문적인 치료나 처방이 필요한 경우, 이곳 주민분들은 배를 타고 병원이 있는 도시까지 나가야지만 치료를 받을 수 있는 상황이라고 합니다. 그렇다보니 사실상 약만 제때 잘 처방 받으면 금방 나을 수 있는 질병도 상황이 여의치 못한 분들은 제 때 치료받지 못해서 병이 악화되는 경우가 많이 있는데, 오늘 오셨던 환자분들 중에서도 그런 분들이 몇분 계셨습니다. 마음이 참 많이 아팠습니다. 하나님께서 이 영혼들을 긍휼히 여기시고 자비를 베풀어주셔서 여호와 라파 치료의 하나님께서 안수하여주시기를, 육신의 연약함으로 고통받고 있는 그 영과 육이 회복되어지는 기적을 베풀어주시기를 간절히 기도했습니다.

The medical mission continued into the afternoon. In the riverside village, there is a small clinic located a short boat ride away from our church, but it isn’t equipped to treat every kind of illness. For cases requiring more specialized treatment or prescriptions, the residents have to take a boat out to the city where the hospital is. Because of this, illnesses that could easily be cured with timely medication often worsen because people cannot get treatment on time due to their circumstances. Among the patients who came today, there were a few in that exact situation. It truly broke our hearts. We earnestly prayed that God would have compassion and mercy on these souls, that Jehovah Rapha, the God of Healing, would lay His hands on them, and that He would perform the miracle of restoring their spirits and bodies suffering from physical weakness.

해가 질 무렵 VBS 일정이 모두 마무리 되고 아쉽지만 다음을 기약하며 아이들과, 학부모님들과 작별의 인사를 나눴습니다.

As the sun began to set, the VBS schedule came to an end. It was sad to say goodbye, but we promised to meet again and bid farewell to the children and their parents.

And not wanting to miss the beautiful sunset, we took another one in front of the church! Isn't the Amazon sunset just so beautiful +_+! Everyone, please come on a mission trip to Brazil!

VBS를 마무리하고 저녁을 먹은 뒤 저희는 배로 20분정도 떨어진 강변마을에 있는 다른 교회로 이동하여 함께 현지 교인분들과 저녁예배를 드렸습니다. 

교회 가는 길에 본 하늘에는 수많은 별들이 아마존을 비추고 있었습니다. 아름다운 별들을 지으시고 이 땅을 지으신 하나님, 그 모든것들을 우리에게 거저 주신 하나님의 그 크신 은혜. 

주님의 이름이 어찌 그리 아름다우신지요! 할렐루야!

After wrapping up VBS and having dinner, we took a 20-minute boat ride to another church in a different riverside village and had an evening worship service with the local congregation. 

On our way to the church, the sky was filled with countless stars shining over the Amazon. The God who created these beautiful stars and this land, and His immense grace in giving all of this to us freely... How beautiful is the name of the Lord! Hallelujah!

현지 교회에서 바디 워십을 드리고, 황목사님께서 하박국 3:17-19 본문으로 은혜로운 설교 메세지를 나눠주셨습니다. 또한 성도님들을 위해 함께 기도하는 시간을 가졌습니다.
함께 손을 잡고 기도하는 그 시간은 온전히 성령님께서 주장하시는 놀라우신 기적과 역사의 시간이었습니다. 언어는 다를지라도 성령의 인도하심을 따라 서로를 위해 기도할때 부어주신 하나님의 은혜가 너무 커 눈물로 주님 앞에 엎드릴 수 밖에 없었습니다. 오늘 설교 본문의 말씀처럼 우리의 삶이 마치 무화과 나무에 열매가 없어 소출이 없는것과 같은 막막함과 두려움속에 놓여져있는것처럼 느껴질때에도, 그럼에도 여호와로 인해 즐거워하며 구원의 하나님으로 말미암아 우리가 기뻐할 수 있음을 고백하는 시간이었습니다. 우리의 힘 되시며, 우리의 발을 사슴과 같게 하사 우리로 하여금 우리의 높은 곳으로 다니게 하시는 하나님의 그 크신 사랑 앞에 서로를 올려드리며, 말씀이 살아서 역사하시는 브라질 성도님들의 삶이 되길 간절히 간구했습니다.

하나님께서 우리에게 주신 말씀을 붙잡고 우리가 하나님 앞에 가난한 마음으로 간구할때, 아버지되신 하나님께서 우리의 기도를 반드시 이루어주실것을 믿습니다. 예수 그리스도의 이름에는 선하시고 완전하시며 전지전능하신 능력이 있기에, 그 이름을 부르짖으며 이 땅에 있는 주의 자녀들을 주님께 올려드리며 기도할때 예수님의 이름의 능력이 이 땅 가운데에, 우리 삶 가운데에 나타날 줄을 믿습니다! 

We performed our worship dance at the local church, and Pastor Hwang shared a gracious sermon based on Habakkuk 3:17-19. We also had a time to pray together for the church members. The time we spent holding hands and praying was a time of amazing miracles and works entirely led by the Holy Spirit. Even though our languages were different, the grace God poured out as we prayed for each other following the Holy Spirit’s guidance was so immense that we couldn’t help but bow down before the Lord in tears. Just like the scripture in today's sermon, it was a time of confessing that even when our lives feel enveloped in the hopelessness and fear of a fig tree with no fruit and no yield, we can still rejoice in the Lord and be joyful in God our Savior. We lifted each other up before the great love of God, who is our strength, who makes our feet like the feet of a deer, and enables us to tread on the heights. We earnestly prayed that the lives of the Brazilian saints would be ones where the Word is alive and active.

When we hold onto the Word God has given us and plead before Him being poor in spirit, we believe that God, our Father, will surely answer our prayers. Because the name of Jesus Christ holds good, perfect, and almighty power, we believe that when we cry out that name and lift up the Lord's children in this land in prayer, the power of Jesus' name will manifest in this land and in our lives!

저희가 숙소로 지내고 있는 강변마을 교회로 다시 돌아와서 오늘 하나님께서 저희에게 경험하게 해주신 하나님의 은혜를 함께 나누며 간증하는 시간을 가졌습니다.

놀라우신 하나님의 역사는 이미 시작 되었습니다! 앞으로 남은 일정가운데에 하나님께서 보이실 기적과 새로운 은혜를 더욱더 기대하며 소망할 수 있는 시간이었습니다. 

남은 일정가운데에서도 저희가 가난한 마음을 가지고, 겸손한 마음으로 주의 이름을 부르짖으며 예배할때 하나님의 임재하심이, 성령의 감동과 교통하시는 은혜가 있기를 계속해서 기도해주시기를 부탁드립니다! :)

We returned to the riverside village church where we are staying and had a testimony time, sharing the grace God allowed us to experience today. 

God's amazing work has already begun! It was a time that allowed us to anticipate and hope even more for the miracles and new grace God will show us in our remaining schedule. 

Please continue to pray for us, that throughout the rest of our schedule, as we worship and cry out the Lord's name with humble and poor hearts, there will be the presence of God and the touching and communing grace of the Holy Spirit! :)

(Though I couldn't get it on camera T.T, it's no secret that right after Missionary Ji Deok-jin's touching testimony, Pastor Hwang had his own tearful testimony time~~)
