승주찬! 오늘은 거리 전도를 하는 날이었습니다.
Today was the day for street evangelism.
시부야 도심으로 향하는 길입니다.
On our way to downtown Shibuya.
하나님의 축복은 날씨를 통해서도 분명하게 느낄 수 있었습니다. 일본에 도착한 첫날부터 어제까지는 무더위에 지쳐 있었는데, 오늘은 기적처럼 선선한 날씨가 우리를 맞이했습니다. 교회 문을 나서는 순간, 불안함과 낙심이 남아 있음에도 자리에서 일어나 순종하는 우리의 모습을 하나님께서 기뻐하신다는 마음이 들었습니다.
We could clearly sense God's blessing even through the weather. From the day we arrived in Japan until yesterday, we had been exhausted by the intense heat. But today, as if by a miracle, we were greeted by cool and refreshing weather. The moment we stepped out of the church, we felt that God was pleased to see us rise up in obedience despite the fear and discouragement still lingering in our hearts.
시부야 첫 번째 장소에서 바디워십과 스킷을 진행했습니다.
At our first location in Shibuya, we presented a body worship performance and a skit.
빌딩 숲 사이를 바쁘게 오가는 사람들은 걸음을 늦추며 우리를 바라보았지만, 선뜻 발걸음을 멈추지는 않았습니다.
People hurried through the streets between the tall buildings. Many glanced at us as they passed by, but few actually stopped.
바디워십이 끝나갈 무렵, 역무원으로 보이는 분의 요청으로 자리를 옮겨야 했습니다.
As our body worship performance was coming to an end, someone who appeared to be a station staff member asked us to move.
시부야 두 번째 장소로 이동해 다시 바디워십을 시작했습니다.
We moved to a second location in Shibuya and began our body worship once again.
하지만 이번에도 공연이 끝나갈 즈음 관리자의 요청으로 자리를 비워야 했습니다. 반복되는 상황 속에서 팀원들의 마음에는 어느새 위축됨과 두려움이 스며들기 시작했습니다.
Once again, just as we were finishing, a manager asked us to leave. As this happened repeatedly, discouragement and fear quietly began to creep into our hearts.
그러나 우리는 포기하지 않고 조금 떨어진 곳으로 이동해 스킷을 이어갔습니다.
Instead of giving up, we moved a short distance away and continued with our skit.
이번에는 그곳에 있던 많은 젊은이들이 지켜보았습니다. 공연이 끝난 후 팀원들은 그들에게 다가가 담대히 복음을 전했습니다.
This time, many young people stopped to watch. After the performance, our team members boldly approached them and shared the gospel.
이후 두 번째 사역지인 하라주쿠로 이동했습니다.
Afterward, we headed to our second ministry location, Harajuku.
공연을 준비한 곳은 유명한 신사로 들어가는 초입으로, 유동인구가 매우 많은 곳이었습니다. 언제든 제지를 받아도 이상하지 않을 장소였지만, 준비한 바디워십과 스킷, 그리고 찬양을 믿음으로 올려드렸습니다.
The place where we performed was at the entrance to a famous shrine, an area crowded with people throughout the day. It was a place where we could have been asked to leave at any moment, yet by faith we offered our body worship, skit, and songs of praise.
이곳에서는 더 많은 사람들이 우리의 공연을 지켜보았습니다. 공연이 끝난 뒤 팀원들은 한 사람 한 사람에게 다가가 복음을 전했습니다.
Even more people gathered to watch our performance there. Afterward, our team members approached them one by one and shared the gospel.
일본에서 전도가 얼마나 어려운지 수없이 들어왔고, 직접 경험하기도 했기에 솔직히 팀원들 모두 큰 기대를 품지는 못했습니다.
그러나 하나님께서는 우리의 생각을 뛰어넘어 마음이 열린 사람들을 보내 주셨고, 그들은 팀원들이 전하는 복음을 진지하게 귀 기울여 들었습니다.
We had heard countless times how difficult evangelism in Japan could be, and many of us had experienced it ourselves before. To be honest, we did not have high expectations.
Yet God exceeded our expectations by bringing people whose hearts were open, and they listened attentively as our team shared the gospel.
교회로 돌아와 저녁 예배 시간에 각자가 경험한 일을 나누며, 하나님께서 얼마나 놀랍게 일하셨는지 다시금 확인할 수 있었습니다.
여행 중 우연히 맞은편 2층 건물에서 두 딸과 저녁 식사를 하던 마운틴뷰에 거주하는 한 분은 우리 팀의 공연을 보고 궁금한 마음에 직접 내려와 복음을 들었습니다.
또 어떤 팀원은 수녀님들에게 복음을 전했고, 또 다른 팀원은 유대인 모녀에게 복음을 전했습니다. 일본인 학생들을 비롯해 다양한 사람들과 복음을 나눌 수 있었던 은혜의 시간이었습니다.
When we returned to the church and shared our experiences during the evening service, we realized once again how wonderfully God had been at work.
One father from Mountain View (Yes!), who happened to be having dinner with his two daughters in a building across the street while traveling, became curious after seeing our performance and came down to hear the gospel. One team member shared the gospel with Catholic nuns, another with a Jewish mother and daughter, and many others had meaningful conversations with Japanese students and people from various backgrounds. It was truly a time filled with God’s grace.
저녁 예배에서는 함께 여리고성의 기적을 묵상했습니다. 성을 다섯 번째, 여섯 번째 돌고 있을 때는 ‘과연 무너질까?’ 하는 의심이 들고, 소망을 내려놓고 싶은 마음이 드는 것이 어쩌면 당연합니다. 그러나 이번 일본 선교를 통해 우리는 하나님께서 일하고 계심을 보여 주시는 작은 진동을 분명히 느낄 수 있었습니다.
During the evening service, we reflected together on the miracle of Jericho. As the Israelites walked around the city for the fifth and sixth time, it would have been natural to wonder, “Will these walls ever fall?” and to feel tempted to give up hope. Yet through this mission trip to Japan, we sensed the first small tremors that remind us God is already at work.
우리는 이 작은 진동이 결국 견고해 보이는 성을 무너뜨릴 것이며, 언젠가는 일본이 선교를 받는 나라를 넘어 선교사를 파송하는 나라로 힘차게 일어설 것을 믿습니다. 그날까지 낙심하지 않고 여리고성을 도는 믿음의 걸음을 계속 걸어가기를 소망합니다.
We believe these small tremors will one day bring down walls that seem impossible to overcome. We also believe that Japan will one day become not only a nation that receives missionaries but one that sends them out to the nations. Until that day, we pray that we will not lose heart but continue walking faithfully around the walls, trusting God with every step.

감동입니다.
일본에서 신앙을 갖는다는 게 참 어려운 일인데, 그럼에도 불구하고 주님의 빛 가운데로 이끌리는 영혼들을 주님께서 사랑으로 꽉 붙잡아주시고 축복해 주시기를 기도합니다.
이 땅에서 어울려 잘 사는 것 보다도 하늘 나라의 시민이 되는 것이 더 귀하다는 것을 알게 해주시기를 간절히 기도합니다.
담대한 발걸음으로 나아간 새누리 일본팀 진심으로 축복합니다!!

이시은 작성일다음세대가 대부분인 선교팀을 일본으로 보내신 하나님께서 이번 선교를 통해 하나님의 마음을 더욱 느끼게 해주십니다. 꽁꽁 얼어붙은 것같은 곳에서도 생명의 복음을 싹트게 하시고 교회를 통하여 풍성한 열매를 맺으실 것을 믿음으로 기도합니다. 이쪽 저쪽으로 이동하라고 하는 방해가운데에서도 더욱 담대히 스킷, 바디워십, 직접 복음전함으로 예수님을 알리신 선교팀이 너무 감사하고 감동입니다. 올려주신 것처럼 일본을 받는 입장에만 있는것이 아니라 보내는 나라로 세워주시길 기도합니다. 선교팀을 축복하며 계속 기도로 함께 합니다. 주님을 찬양합니다!
영어 한어 대학부, 청년부, 장년부.. 모두가 하나되어 주님의 복음을 온몸으로 전하고 입으로 선포하는 그 시간!!!
무엇보다 주님께서 가장 기뻐하셨으리라 믿습니다.
마른땅에 한방울 한방울의 단비가 모여 소나기로 주님의 복음이 쏟아질 그 날을 꿈꿔봅니다!
우리 팀원 형제 자매님들 한분 한분 또한 주님 은혜의 단비가 되어.. 각 일상의 삶에서도 그 은혜를 누리며 살아가는 귀한 믿음의 용사되시길 축복합니다!!!
